Principles of Salvation

Salvation is a free gift of God. Ephesians 2:8; Romans 5:14-21

Salvation is based on the merits of Jesus, not of man. Zechariah 3:4-5; Isaiah 64:6

Salvation can not be earned by man but must be received as a gift by faith; but salvation creates good works. Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 2:10; James 2:14-26; Matthew 7:15-27

Salvation is to save mankind from sin, which separated them from God. Isaiah 59:2; Romans 7:7-8

Salvation is to return mankind to a right relationship with God based on the faith of Jesus, obedience to His commandments, and a patient relationship with God through the life, death, resurrection, and High Priestly intercessions of Jesus. Revelation 14:12; Romans 5:10; Hebrews 7:1-26

Salvation requires both justification and sanctification to accomplish the goals of salvation. Romans 3:24-26; I Corinthians 1:30; Hebrews 2:9-11

One of the many examples of Salvation is the growth process of plants as described in Matthew 13. This growth process requires the opening of the heart through plowing, the planting of true seed, the growth of the seed, production of the fruit, harvest of the fruit. The plant can be killed out, or choked, or it can be preserved and when producing an abundance of fruit, then it can be harvested. Matthew 13:1-43; John 15:1-8; Galatians 5:22-23

God is the husbandman, mankind are the servants/friends/co-workers/and plants of the salvation process. Matthew 13:1-23; Romans 6:23; John 15:13-15

Salvation has been in existence since the fall of Adam and Eve and will run to the destruction of sin, sinners, and the re-creation of the earth after the millennium. Revelation 13:8; Genesis 3:15,21; Romans 5:12-21
