Examples of swallowing:

The Bibles prime example of getting swallowed up was the story of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. Numbers 16-17; Numbers 26:9-10; Deuteronomy 11:6; Psalms 106:17. Satan was using them and was attempting to flood Israel with their errors. God dealt with their rebellion and used their experience to be a type of how He would deal with the errors/rebellion of the Papacy. Revelation 12:15-16. The following outline of the errors of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram show the similarity of the errors of the Papacy. Korahs errors were as follows:

1. Moses could not be trusted and he, Korah would lead.

2. The people were innocent of wrong doing and were holy.

3. The priesthood, and therefore the Sanctuary service,  should be Korah's, and under his control.

The Papal errors are similar in nature:

1. Jesus has sent the Pople to lead the church. Daniel 8:11

2. The church is holy while refusing to comply with God's    revealed will in the Bible. Daniel 7:25

3. The Pope is the high priest of the sanctuary on earth and  one does not need to go to Jesus in the sanctuary in heaven.  Therefore the daily, and the yearly ministries of Jesus are   interrupted. Daniel 8:9-12

4. The Pope is God. II Thessalonians 2:4

To counter this flood of error God chose to deliver His people by a supernatural display. He allowed the earth to swallow up Korah, Dathan, and Abiram. He cleansed the camp by swallowing up the leaders, or fountains of error, by sending fire to clean up/swallow up, the next group (Numbers 16:35); and by plague to cleanse the people (Numbers 16:44-50). God will do this same thing in the end, to the Papal coalition, in Revelation 12-18

Sword - "In His hand are seven stars, and out of His mouth issues a sharp two edged sword, an emblem of the power of His word." AA 582

Sword - "It was the mission of Jesus to reconcile men to God, and thus to one another. But the world at large are under the control of Satan, Christ's bitterest foe. The gospel presents to them principles of life which are wholly at variance with their habits and desires, and they rise in rebellion against it. They hate the purity, which revels and condemns their sins, and they persecute and destroy those who would urge upon them its just and holy claims. It is in this sense -- because the exalted truths it brings occasion hatred and strife -- that the gospel is called a sword." GC 47.

Synagogue of Satan – Counterfeit system of worship established by Satan to confuse those seeking to have a relationship with Jesus.  The name is given in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9. Both times the name is used in the context of those claiming to be Jews and are not.  A NT Jew is a Christian – See Israel – How changed from literal to spiritual Israel. This counterfeit system of Satan has been in existence from the time of Cain and runs through time to the end and is most clearly manifested in the Papacy in its end time manifestation in the man of sin/little horn/king of the north/beast/Mystery Babylon.
