Unbeliever- "Yet he has not accepted the truth for this time: he is an unbeliever." 5T 364

Unclean thing- "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing. What does this mean  - the suggestions, the evil workings in the children of disobedience." TM 272

Unction of the Holy Spirit – “Christ's visible presence was about to be withdrawn from the disciples, but a new endowment of power was to be theirs. The Holy Spirit was to be given them in its fullness, sealing them for their work. In obedience to Christ's command, they waited in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father--the outpouring of the Spirit. They did not wait in idleness. The record says that they were "continually in the temple, praising and blessing God" (Luke 24:53). They also met together to present their requests to the Father in the name of Jesus. . . . Higher and still higher they extended the hand of faith, with the mighty argument, "It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us" (Rom. 8:34). . . . The disciples prayed with intense earnestness for a fitness to meet men and in their daily intercourse to speak words that would lead sinners to Christ. Putting away all differences, all desire for the supremacy, they came close together in Christian fellowship. They drew nearer and nearer to God. . . . These days of preparation were days of deep heart searching. The disciples felt their spiritual need, and cried to the Lord for the holy unction that was to fit them for the work of soul saving. They did not ask for a blessing for themselves merely. They were weighted with the burden of the salvation of souls. They realized that the gospel was to be carried to the world, and they claimed the power that Christ had promised. During the patriarchal age the influence of the Holy Spirit had often been revealed in a marked manner, but never in its fullness. Now, in obedience to the word of the Saviour, the disciples offered their supplications for this gift, and in heaven Christ added His intercession. He claimed the gift of the Spirit, that He might pour it upon His people.” AG 192

Unction -  “The disciples obeyed the divine injunction. While they were engaged in prayer, being of one accord in one place, the Holy Spirit came upon them as a rushing mighty wind, and filled all the house where they were sitting. Peter was re-anointed with the Holy Unction from on high. So wonderful was the out-pouring of the Spirit that "the same day there was added unto them about three thousand souls."

It is this baptism of the Holy Spirit that the churches need today. There are backslidden church-members and backslidden ministers who need re-converting, who need the softening, subduing influence of the baptism of the Spirit, that they may rise in newness of life and make thorough work for eternity. I have seen the irreligion and the self-sufficiency cherished, and I have heard the words spoken, "Except ye repent and be converted, ye shall never see the kingdom of heaven." There are many who will need re-baptizing, but let them never go down into the water until they are dead to sin, cured of selfishness and self-exaltation until they can come up out of the water to live a new life unto God. Faith and repentance are conditions, essential to the forgiveness of sin.” BTS 4/1/1906

Unction – “Plans were made that were all out of line with the unction or the leadings of the Spirit of God”. 17MR 167.1

Unction - The men intrusted with sacred responsibilities as teachers of spiritual things are representatives of Christ. Having His meekness and lowliness, they day by day witness for Him. They manifest His Spirit in their earnest endeavor to do good, and they receive the unction represented by the holy oil. The impartation of God's Spirit is an overflowing of the holy oil from the divine receptacle into human vessels prepared to receive it. Thus by the power and grace of God, and under His superintending care, the work is carried forward, in the face of mighty foes. This work is not to cease until its completion amid the triumphant shout of victory, "Grace, grace unto it." RH, February 5, 1901

Wisdom is like your kinswoman Proverbs 7:4

          Wisdom. Proverbs 8:12-14

Understanding – “Disobedience has closed the door to a vast amount of knowledge that might have been gained from the Scriptures. Understanding means obedience to God’s commandments. The Scriptures are not to be adapted to meet the prejudice and jealousy of men. They can be understood only by those who are humbly seeking for a knowledge of the truth that they may obey it.” COL 112. See DA 455-456

United States of America - "But the beast with lamblike horns was seen "coming up out of the earth." (Revelation 13:11).  Instead of overthrowing other powers to establish itself, the nation thus represented must arise I territory previously unoccupied and grow up gradually and peacefully. It could not, then, arise among the crowded and struggling nationalities of the Old World--that turbulent sea of "peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." It must be sought in the Western Continent.

What nation of the New World was in 1798 rising into power, giving promise of strength and greatness, and attracting the attention of the world? The application of the symbol admits of no question. One nation, and only one, meets the specifications of this prophecy; it points unmistakably to the United States of America." GC 440

United States of America - “The less we make direct charges against authorities and powers, the greater work we shall be able to accomplish, in both America and in foreign countries. Foreign nations will follow the example of the United States. Though she leads out, yet the same crisis will come upon our people in all parts of the world.” 6T 395 See America.

Unlawful connection  – “This cup of intoxication which she presents to the world represents the false doctrine that she has accepted as the result of her unlawful connection with the great ones of the earth.” GC 388

Unleavened bread- "…of sincerity and truth." I Cor. 5:8

Unpardonable Sin- "They (Jewish Leaders) were convinced that a divine power attended Christ, but in order to resist the truth, they attributed the work of the Holy Spirit to Satan. In doing this they deliberately chose deception. They yielded themselves to Satan, and henceforth they were controlled by his power." DA 323

Unrest – “It is the love of self that brings unrest.” DA 330
